Today is holiday in Vietnam.
On 2 September is National Day there. It is actually a big holiday in Vietnam.
I can see many Vietnamese national frag on a street, even on top of the car.
Today I can feel a sort of different atmosphere here. There are just 6 holidays for one year in Vietnam.
And today is last holiday in 2018 so most of Vietnamese people seem like excited.Due to big holiday , the gym is closed even my favourite restaurant is also closed.
In Japan , there are approximate 16 holidays, compared with that feel like much few holidays in Vietnam.I don’t know whether Japanese holidays are many or Vietnamese holidays are few…
The French restaurant near may house is opening today as usual. The restaurant is French so I guess they don’t care about Vietnamese holiday. However the server who is working there is Vietnamese. They seem like don’t want to work only today.
To be honest, I have never learned about history of world seriously in school when I was a student. So I didn’t have any knowledge about Vietnam Independence Day. I spend that day in Vietnam for that reason I think I should learn about that a little. That is great opportunity.
I searched about that from this morning so I am going to mention what I searched a bit on this blog.
At first, Did Vietnam Independence from where? This answer is from Japan.
On 2 September 1945, commemorating President Ho Chi Minh read the declarations of Independence of Vietnam. It is the country’s National Day.
The Japan occupied Vietnam during World War II but they allowed the French to remaining exert some influence. On 2 September 1945,the Japan read Potsdam Declaration. At The same time, Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam’s independence under the new em of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
The Vietnam was a first socialistic country in Southeast Asia at that time.
I didn’t know that my home country concerned with Vietnam’s Independence. I didn’t know anything.
It was really good opportunity to know history of my favourite country.
By the way from them, I figured out “why Vietnamese people are so kind to us(Japanese)”.
Because my opinion is"Dominating is kind of evil".
So I felt not good from that history as One Japanese person. They obviously kind to me anytime. I was never had bad behaviour from them. Never Ever. I can feel them respect anytime. For example, when I have meal at local restaurant they give me good service because of I am Japanese moreover they ask me a lot of questions about Japan. Like “ what is popular in Japan these days?” “Why Japanese are so polite? “They are always curious about us (Japan).
One of my Vietnamese friend said "most of Vietnamese LOVE Japan. I am not exaggerating , that is true."
Today I asked to my Vietnamese friend that why Vietnamese people love Japan although Japan dominated Vietnam.
She answered “I was not born at that time so I really really really don’t care about that. And Japan was dominating but it was not you . You never done anything, right? In addition, Japanese are so polite. I like that. I have been serving Japanese however I never met a person who is rude. They always say “thank you “.
This is normally good behaviour . But the normal is the most important. Most of people know saying “thank you” is important when they get something good happened from someone. However there are a few people who do that in the world. Japanese is different. They do all the time.”
Vietnamese don’t see the past , they just see right now. There are may Japanese in Vietnam. They behaviour well, and Vietnamese see that then admire.I think I should behaviour as well. I just behaviour naturally but our natural behaviour is good things all over the world. That is my pleasure.
Thank you for reading today,
